What We Do

Throughout Addiction Resource Council’s existence it has been our mission to prevent, intervene, and educate the community on substance use and its many facets. ARC promotes the prevention and treatment of substance abuse and supports the recovery of individuals and families affected by the chronic disease of addiction throughout Waukesha County.  We are committed to providing alcohol and other drug prevention education, intervention, assessment, referral services, and leadership for collaboration among institutions, organizations and community-based agencies.  While we are based in Waukesha County and focus on local areas, we are hopeful to have the opportunity to branch out and provide services throughout the state.  Over recent years, ARC has expanded its mission to address community concerns on many more types of addictions, such as gaming or gambling addictions. Today, our programming continues to expand to new age groups and other demographics, as well as to new areas in southeast Wisconsin.

Over the past few years, the presence of COVID-19 and the isolation it has caused made severe and tragic impacts upon our Waukesha County community members. The risk for developing addiction or relapsing from one already present is much higher today than before the start of the pandemic. As a result of the increase in demand for our free-to-the-community programs, our organization is working to increase the access and service range of our community programs in order to better serve those impacted by alcohol- and drug- related influences or suffering with addiction.

Addiction Resource Council (ARC) is a non-profit organization located in Pewaukee, WI that provides community services to Waukesha County and surrounding areas. ARC’s mission is to support the recovery community and provide resources and services for all life stages for the prevention, intervention, and treatment of a variety of addictions, including gaming, love/sex, social media, alcohol, and legal/illegal substances. Throughout 50 years of service, Addiction Resource Council has implemented many community programs to provide services to our community members who need recovery-related support. Today, our programming continues to expand to new age groups and other demographics, as well as to new areas in southeast Wisconsin.

We are committed to serving residents of Waukesha County by providing alcohol and other drug prevention education, intervention, assessment, referral services, and leadership for collaboration among institutions, organizations and community-based agencies.
